Assisting Educators in Facilitating Positive Transformations

“A teacher can be like a director, designing the scene, acting as the background, giving reminders, and even being the one who watches and listens.”

At SIS PLAY, educators are at the core of our exceptional early learning environment. They embrace many roles: nurturing each child’s curiosity and freedom to explore while encouraging learning through mistakes. They closely observe each child’s growth, recording their progress and finding the best moments for learning opportunities. Teachers have ample non-contact time for personal development, sharing insights with colleagues, documenting children’s achievements, and planning personalized educational activities.

Teacher as an Enabler

In the role of enablers, teachers promote the use of exploratory questions.

Teacher as a Creator

Acting as creators, teachers develop engaging learning environments and experiences.

Teacher as an Investigator

As investigators, teachers observe and record each child's educational journey.

Teacher as an Organizer

As organizers, teachers gather valuable educational materials and select the appropriate ones for classroom use.

Supporting Teacher Learnings

At SIS Play, prioritizing our teachers’ education and skill development is key. Our comprehensive Teacher Training Program ensures educators feel empowered and responsible for their personal growth. By offering personalized professional development opportunities, we encourage our teachers to create customized learning experiences for kids. Our approach to teacher education is built on three important pillars:

Learning through Workshops

Teachers at SIS Play can join various workshops on topics like classroom management, play-based curriculum design, storytelling, and integrated math teaching.

Experts lead these workshops throughout the year. Teachers are encouraged to attend school-mandated workshops and choose those that match their interests. Once a year, our school leaders visit innovative preschools around the world to learn and adopt successful practices.

Communities for Professional Growth

We have created Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to help our teachers grow in both learning and leadership.

PLCs give educators regular, ongoing learning opportunities tailored to their specific needs, based on data from their improvement plans. Teachers can also identify their own growth areas and form PLCs to focus on them.

Observing Classroom Dynamics

At SIS Play, teachers observe their peers’ classrooms, no matter their experience level.

These observations lead to reflective discussions between the observer and the observed teacher, allowing for constructive feedback and new ideas. To ensure clear and focused observations, teachers follow specific criteria for classroom standards, which form the basis of helpful feedback.
