Making learning fun and complete for every kid

“When teachers believe kids are smart and can do great things, both the kids and the teachers have a lot of fun and get excited about learning together.”

The SIS PLAY Curriculum is a special way of teaching little kids from 1 to 4 years old. It’s all about helping them learn and grow in a fun, safe, and loving place filled with play and learning activities. We use ideas from famous teaching methods like Reggio Emilia, Montessori, and the Creative Curriculum. Our teaching is built on four big ideas and aims to help kids get good at eight important skills they need as they grow.

Whole Child Development Learnings

Enlivening Child-Centric Journeys

The SIS Play Early Childhood Curriculum presents a cohesive strategy for education and development aimed at children from 12 months to 4.5 years of age. Its goal is to lay a robust groundwork for early learning within a nurturing, secure, and playful setting that also enriches academically. Our educational philosophy draws inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach, the Montessori Method, and the Creative Curriculum. We center our comprehensive child development model on four core principles, emphasizing the cultivation of eight essential foundational skills in young learners.

Exploration and Learning Through Play

Play serves as a pathway to early education, leveraging the innate curiosity and enthusiasm of children. Our philosophy holds that children achieve optimal learning when they explore subjects that intrigue them, facilitated by significant engagement with both adults and peers. By fostering a play-based inquiry environment, SIS Play encourages a genuine passion for learning among young learners. Our educators integrate learning opportunities into play activities, both inside and outside, and through both organized and spontaneous play. This approach aids in the development of vital skills in children, including effective communication, self-discipline, social competencies, perseverance, creativity, and the ability to solve problems.

Enhanced Experiences in Literacy and Mathematics

The development of language, literacy, and math skills is crucial for a child’s overall growth and future achievements. In the modern world, which emphasizes teamwork, communication, and advancements in science and technology, these skills are increasingly essential. SIS Play has shifted away from traditional worksheet-based and memorization techniques for nurturing these abilities. Our approach to literacy and math education is woven seamlessly into every aspect of a child’s daily experience at school. We allocate specific times during the day for focused activities on problem-solving and mathematical exploration, as well as for enhancing phonics, reading, and oral communication skills.

Illuminating the Process of Thinking and Learning

The comprehension of young learners is evident in their expressions, actions, and creations. As such, educators at SIS Play are dedicated to motivating children to articulate, share, and demonstrate their understanding. They capture insights into the children’s learning journey using notes, photographs, videos, voice recordings, and direct interactions. Educators compile these observations into Learning Stories, detailed accounts of children’s insights and experiences, as noted throughout their time at school. Our educational environment includes an educator portal and an application designed to document and share these learning moments. Through the family app, parents can access and view these snapshots of their child’s educational progress.

Fostering Meaningful Connections

We hold the conviction that learning unfolds within the framework of interpersonal relationships. In environments where relationships are nurturing, children can showcase their intellect, inventiveness, and capacity for solving problems. Educators play a crucial role in nurturing positive connections among the adults and children in the classroom. At SIS Play, our educators are dedicated to establishing a foundation of supportive social dynamics that enhance every interaction and learning opportunity. Such an environment minimizes challenging behaviors and fosters conditions conducive to skillful and competent behavior in children.

Key Areas of Child Development

At SIS Play, we recognize and value the distinctiveness and personal growth journey of every child.
